Pedernales Falls – May 10

Slooooow day at the blind. Took Doris, in hopes that she would get to see the new birds I saw a couple of weeks ago. It was extremely empty. Just the usual suspects and not many of them. Noteworthy:

  • Blackburnian Warber (new)
  • Inca Juvenile Mourning Dove
  • Painted Bunting
  • Yellow Warbler

I did happen to meet Susan Andres. Nice to put a face to a blog. Hi Susan. She mentioned that TPWD is planning to build a second blind behind the current to face the opposite direction. That’s good when the sun is in the ‘wrong’ direction; you could just hop over to the other one.

This is probably my last trip out there until the fall unless I get bored. It’s getting warm inside the blind and bird traffic gets less interesting as we move out of spring.

I finished processing all my vacation photos so those, and the blog entry for Vancouver will be up this week I hope.
